Information

Uncommon passage migrant and rare winter visitor. The only Crake in our region that does not normally require wetlands on passage. Often it is flushed from cover and in flight one may notice its long dangling legs.
Where in Kuwait 
It is widespread but secretive and uncommon in Kuwait and is rarely seen.
In the world 
It breeds in Europe and central Asia, as far east as western China, and is considered a long-distant migrant that winters in sub-Saharan Africa.
Local threats 
Indiscriminate shooting and loss of suitable habitat.
